1.About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of Kin Yoga and to any purchase of Kin Yoga memberships, live online classes, workshops, retreats or other paid services made through our website.
Kin Yoga is operated by Pixie Connections, trading as Kin Yoga, of 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at hello@kinyoga.org.
By purchasing a Kin Yoga membership or class, or by booking and attending a Kin Yoga class, you agree to these Terms.
These Terms do not affect any legal rights you have under applicable consumer law.
2.Our services
Kin Yoga provides live online yoga, movement, meditation, breathwork and related wellbeing practices.
Our regular live classes are generally 30 minutes long and take place online at the times shown on the Kin Yoga schedule.
We may also offer workshops, retreats and special events from time to time. These may have their own additional information or terms, which will be provided at the time of booking.
We may change the timetable, teachers, class descriptions or other arrangements where reasonably necessary. Where a material change affects a booking you have already made, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
3.Kin Membership
Kin Membership costs £50 per month, unless a different price is expressly displayed before purchase.
Membership provides:
- unlimited access to eligible live online Kin Yoga classes;
- the ability to book individual classes on the schedule; and
- member discounts on selected workshops, retreats and special events.
Membership does not automatically book you into classes. Members must book each class they wish to attend.
Membership is personal to the member and must not be shared or transferred to another person.
Member discounts may vary between events. The applicable discount will be shown when the relevant event is offered.
4.Membership payments and renewal
Kin Membership costs £50 per month. It is a recurring membership that renews automatically each month until you cancel.
The applicable membership price and billing frequency will be clearly shown before you subscribe.
You authorise Kin Yoga, through its payment provider, to charge the applicable membership fee at the agreed billing frequency until the membership is cancelled.
You can cancel your membership at any time. You can request cancellation through your online membership account when that functionality is available, or by contacting us at hello@kinyoga.org.
Under our normal cancellation arrangement, your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your membership remains active until that date, and no further renewal payment will be taken after your membership has been cancelled, subject to applicable consumer law.
After we receive your cancellation request, Kin Yoga will confirm the cancellation, the date on which your membership will end and whether any refund is due.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights, including any applicable cancellation or refund rights. If you have a statutory right to cancel or receive a refund, that right takes precedence over the normal end-of-billing-period cancellation arrangement.
If the membership price changes, Kin Yoga will provide any notice required by applicable law before the new price takes effect.
5.Pausing your membership
Kin may offer members the option to pause their membership for up to 3 months.
If a pause is agreed:
- membership payments will be suspended during the agreed pause period;
- access to membership benefits and live classes will be temporarily suspended;
- the membership will automatically resume on the agreed restart date; and
- Kin will confirm the pause and restart date by email.
Pausing your membership is optional. You may choose to cancel your membership instead.
Any pause arrangement is separate from, and does not limit, any statutory consumer rights you may have, including any applicable cancellation or refund rights.
If you have questions about pausing your membership, contact hello@kinyoga.org.
6.Consumer rights and cancellation
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any statutory rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Where a statutory cancellation or cooling-off right applies, you may exercise that right in accordance with the applicable law.
Where a statutory right does not apply, the cancellation, booking and refund rules set out in these Terms will apply.
7.Booking classes
All live classes must be booked in advance, including for Kin members.
Bookings close 3 hours before the scheduled class start time.
Once bookings have closed, you will not normally be able to book that class.
A booking is personal to the person who made it and may not be transferred to another person without our agreement.
Please check the date, time and class details carefully before booking.
8.Cancelling a class booking
If you can no longer attend a class, please cancel your booking at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time.
This allows your place to become available to someone else.
Cancellations made less than 2 hours before the class, and failure to attend without cancelling, will be treated as a late cancellation or no-show.
Kin Yoga does not charge an additional financial penalty for late cancellations or no-shows under the launch membership model.
However, repeated no-shows may result in reasonable restrictions on advance bookings where necessary to ensure fair access to classes. Any such restriction will be communicated to the member.
9.Single-class purchases
Individual live classes cost £5.50 per class, unless another price is clearly displayed at the time of purchase.
A single-class purchase does not require a Kin Membership.
Subject to any statutory consumer rights that apply, single-class purchases are non-refundable once purchased.
If Kin Yoga cancels a class, you will receive a full refund for that class.
If you choose not to attend, or cancel after the applicable cancellation deadline, you will not normally be entitled to a refund, subject always to any statutory rights that apply.
10.Classes with no bookings
Kin Yoga reserves the right not to run a class where there are no bookings.
If this happens, the class will be shown as cancelled on the schedule.
If you have purchased a single class and Kin Yoga cancels that class, you will receive a full refund.
A cancellation of an individual class does not automatically entitle a monthly member to a refund of their membership fee, as membership provides access to multiple classes rather than payment for one particular class.
11.Arriving for class
Please log in 2–3 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Classes begin promptly at the advertised time.
As Kin Yoga classes are only 30 minutes long, late arrival may disrupt the practice or mean that you miss important preparation or instructions.
For this reason, latecomers may not be admitted, particularly where a class forms part of a sequence or includes practices that need to be followed in a particular order.
We recommend allowing yourself a few minutes before class to get settled and prepare your space.
12.Online classes and technical requirements
You are responsible for having:
- a suitable device;
- a stable internet connection;
- appropriate space to practise safely; and
- any equipment recommended for the class.
Kin Yoga is not responsible for interruptions caused by your own internet connection, device, software or other equipment outside our reasonable control.
If a technical problem on Kin Yoga’s side prevents a class from taking place, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate alternative, which may include rescheduling the class or providing a refund where appropriate.
13.Health and safety
Yoga, movement, breathwork and meditation involve physical and wellbeing practices that may not be suitable for everyone.
You participate voluntarily and at your own discretion.
You should consider your own health, fitness, injuries, medical conditions and circumstances before participating. If you are unsure whether a particular practice is suitable for you, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before taking part.
Please inform your teacher before class about any relevant limitation or injury that you wish them to be aware of.
Teachers may offer modifications or alternatives, but you remain responsible for choosing whether and how to participate.
Stop practising if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, discomfort or any other concerning symptom, and seek appropriate medical attention where necessary.
Kin Yoga classes are not medical treatment and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
14.Personal responsibility
You are responsible for creating a safe practice environment at home.
Please ensure that you have sufficient clear space and that your floor, equipment and surroundings are suitable for movement.
Do not practise in a location where you may be disturbed, distracted or placed at unnecessary risk.
15.Children and young people
Unless specifically advertised otherwise, regular Kin Yoga live classes are intended for adults.
Where Kin Yoga offers a class, workshop or programme specifically for children or young people, the applicable age requirements and any parental or guardian consent requirements will be provided before booking.
16.Teacher changes and substitutions
We aim to provide the teacher shown on the schedule, but circumstances may occasionally require us to change or substitute a teacher.
A teacher change does not normally entitle a member to a membership refund.
If a teacher change results in Kin Yoga cancelling a class, the cancellation and refund provisions in these Terms will apply.
17.Workshops, retreats and special events
Workshops, retreats and special events may have different prices, booking arrangements, cancellation deadlines and refund policies.
Where different terms apply, those terms will be clearly communicated before you purchase.
Kin members may receive discounts on selected events. The applicable discount will be shown when the event is advertised.
18.Planned breaks
Kin Yoga may take planned breaks during the year.
Where we schedule a planned closure, we will communicate the dates in advance and update the class schedule.
For the planned Christmas and New Year break, Kin Yoga intends to close live classes from 25 December to 1 January inclusive, with classes resuming on 2 January.
Kin may occasionally close for planned breaks, such as over Christmas and New Year. We will tell members about any planned closure in advance and explain whether it affects their membership period, access to classes, or payments.
A planned studio closure is different from an individual member choosing to pause their membership. A voluntary membership pause is governed by the separate "Pausing your membership" section of these Terms.
A planned studio closure does not automatically mean that every member's billing date is changed. Kin will communicate any applicable membership adjustment or payment arrangement for a planned closure.
19.Intellectual property
All Kin Yoga website content, including text, photographs, graphics, branding, videos, class materials and other content, belongs to Kin Yoga or is used with permission.
You may use this content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, record, sell, publish or commercially exploit Kin Yoga content without our prior written permission.
You must not record or redistribute live classes without our express permission.
20.Your account
Where you create an account with Kin Yoga, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
You must not share your account with another person.
Please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
21.Acceptable use and conduct
You agree to use Kin Yoga services respectfully and appropriately.
You must not:
- harass, threaten or abuse teachers, staff or other participants;
- behave in a discriminatory or offensive manner;
- deliberately disrupt a class;
- record or distribute a class without permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Kin Yoga systems; or
- use Kin Yoga content for commercial purposes without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misconduct, subject to applicable law.
22.Our responsibility to you
Kin Yoga will provide its services with reasonable care and skill as required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Subject to your statutory rights, Kin Yoga will not be responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the contract was entered into or for matters outside our reasonable control.
23.Events outside our reasonable control
Circumstances outside our reasonable control may sometimes prevent or disrupt a class or other service. These may include serious technical failures, internet or platform outages, natural disasters, extreme weather, power failures, strikes, government restrictions or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Where this happens, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and provide an appropriate alternative where reasonably possible.
24.Complaints
We want you to have a positive experience with Kin Yoga.
If you have a complaint or concern, please contact:
- hello@kinyoga.org
Please provide your name, relevant booking or membership details and a description of the issue.
We will review your complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
25.Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information.
Privacy Policy
Kin Yoga will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law.
26.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal requirements or business operations.
Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide appropriate notice where required by law.
The version applicable to your purchase will be made available to you.
27.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you will also have the benefit of any mandatory protections available to you under the law of the country in which you live that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising any statutory rights available to you.
